ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
The Youth Recreation Lead Facilitator will be able to help the district in an assortment of different ways. The Youth Recreation Lead Facilitator will manage, supervise, and participate in camp-wide programming activities with campers of different ages for 8 weeks during the summer, as well as helping with other programs as necessary.

JOB DUTIES/TASKS
• Adhere to safe work practices, operate vehicles and equipment safely.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and the public.
• Follow safety regulations and support established policies.
• Facilitate recreation programs, manage staff, and mitigate risks.
• Supervise up to 15 youth in camp activities.
• Resolve conflicts calmly and lead both adults and youth.
• Assist in various department programs and events.
• Attend to individual needs of patrons, communicate program information.
• Collaborate with team to ensure camper safety and hygiene.
• Build rapport with campers through empathy and compassion.
• Take attendance and provide positive feedback to parents.
• Assist in sports, outdoor activities, arts & crafts, etc.
• Maintain equipment, assist in advanced recreational programs.
• Promote safety and sportsmanship.
• Support staff in facilitating programs, manage group dynamics.
• Participate in training workshops.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Directly supervise the Youth Recreation Facilitators.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work environment may include exposure to seasonal weather conditions, hazards, and physical risks, requiring adherence to safety precautions.
• Duties may involve driving Sheridan Recreation District vehicles to transport youth to recreational sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire.
• Wilderness First Aid Certificate preferred.
• Current Wyoming Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work weeknights and weekends as needed.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
• Ability to work well with children and parents.
• Effective communication skills with parents, other Facilitators, and campers.
• Ability to motivate others to learn new skills.
• Demonstrate responsible, ethical, and professional conduct.
• Provide support and instruction to others.
• Experience or education in working with children.
• Minimum age for this position is 17 years old.
