Sheridan County School District is looking for an organized, professional, and friendly Administrative Assistant to join the Sheridan High School team.

BENEFITS: This positions is eligible for 10 paid sick leave days and 2 paid personal days. Time off matches the school calendar including Christmas break, spring break and summers off. This position is eligible for medical (free for single coverag), dental (free for single coverage), vision and supplemental insurance plans and will contribute to the Wyoming Retirment Employee Pension Plan. SCHEDULE: This position will work 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday for 176 days during the school year. 

STARTING WAGE:  $15.06 - $18.06 depending on experience.

2.    Typing Skills
3.    Office Machine Skills

REPORTS TO:    Principal and/or Assistant Principals

JOB GOAL:    Maintain accurate student attendance and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their student(s).

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment relationship with the District is at will and of indefinite duration. Salary and fringe benefits to be set by the Board of Trustees.

Placement on any of the Classified (Hourly) Wage Schedules for all new employees will be based solely on an individual’s years of job-related experience:

  

*placement beyond step seven (7) requires approval from the Superintendent

 

Upon board approval, eligible staff move one (1) step on the wage schedule annually, except in those years when the Board of Trustees sets a wage freeze due to budget constraints. Idividuals that start in their position after the start of second semester will not be eligible for a step increase the following school year. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s Policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.

  1. Responsible for all student attendance records and see that they are kept up to date and recorded accurately.
  2. Calculate and record the weekly Principal’s Report, Quarterly Report, and year-end reports for attendance.
  3. Responsible for daily attendance keeping.
  4. Receive incoming calls for absenteeism, parent requests as well as parent concerns.
  5. Assist teachers with any information on student attendance records.
  6. Responsible for uploading student medical attendance information, checking out of school, or assisting with predetermined absences.
  7. Assist with registration, schedule conflicts, and locker assignments before the school begins.
  8. Support the school nurse when needed.
  9. Assist with day to day office concerns and operations.
  10. Assist the Principal upon request.
  11. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
  • School district experience (full time) = One (1) year of job-related experience equals one (1) step on the wage schedule, up to step seven (7)
  • School district experience (substitute) & non-school district experience = three (3) years of job-related experience equals one (1) step on the wage schedule, up to step seven (7)
