JOB DESCRIPTION
Title:  Breakfast Cook/Baker
Location: 211 Smith Street, Sheridan, WY 82801
Reports to: Executive Chef

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Food Preparation & Baking
Prepares made to order, café style breakfast for 30-50 people Monday - Friday from 7am to 9am
Follows recipes and instructions to successfully duplicate food items every time.
Bakes all scratch-made items.
Plans for the next day by preparing appropriate foods and baked goods in advance.
Responsible for storing, monitoring, and keeping stock of the necessary food and supplies.

Cooking Equipment & Task Planning:
Operates cooking equipment, such as grills, fryers, and stoves.
Reads and interprets patron orders and prepares them accordingly.
Monitors cooking times and temperatures to ensure food quality and safety.
Works with Executive Chef to plan and execute daily tasks.
Plans for the next day to prepare appropriate prep items in advance

Sanitation & Safety
Cleans work areas regularly.
Assures that food items being produced follow regulations involving health and sanitation.
Assures that safety and customer service are priorities in food preparation.
Reports concerns of health and safety regarding an individual or the program to the supervisor immediately.
Strictly follows the organization’s procedures in case of an accident.

Planning & Coordination
Works with supervisor to plan and execute daily tasks.
Works independently and in cooperation with others.
Adheres to policy and procedures on confidentiality.

Communication & Teamwork
Frequently communicates and exchanges information with others.
Assists staff as needed.
Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and organization.
Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the organization's goals and operations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Coachable with a willingness to learn and adapt to a changing workflow.
Understanding of cooking methods, such as grilling, frying, sautéing, and broiling.
Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of kitchen appliances and 
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
Ability to communicate effectively with volunteers, kitchen team, and Front of House Executive Chef to ensure smooth operations.
Ability to work efficiently and calmly in high-pressure situations, especially during peak hours.

Physical Demands
Must be able to stand, walk, or remain in one place for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with alternative tools or methods provided as needed.
Must have manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment, utensils, and tools.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach for food preparation and storage.
Must be able to tolerate working in environments with varying temperatures, such as hot kitchens and cold storage areas.
Must have the ability to monitor food quality, equipment, and safety hazards visually and/or auditorily.
Must have the stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as chopping, stirring, and serving.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 2 years of culinary experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position effectively.
