Job Summary:
The Mathematics Faculty position provides math instruction at Sheridan College, for the Northern Wyoming Community College District. The full-time instructor will teach a variety of mathematics courses, including lecture courses in algebra, calculus, statistics and potentially other math courses based on areas of expertise and department needs; provide instructional support in the math center; and contribute to student success initiatives. Duties include curriculum development, assessment of learning at the course, program and institutional levels; use of innovative methodologies and techniques in the classroom; willingness to integrate technology into classroom lessons, ability to teach online classes, and engagement with students inside and outside the classroom, including student advising and tutoring in the math center. There is an expectation for on-going scholarly activity and professional development, collegial activity with peers, and involvement with the college governance processes. Coordination and collaboration within the mathematics department and with other related programs, including the sciences, is expected.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Facilitate learning for math students through teaching, math center tutoring and curriculum development
• College service - engaging in committee work and contributing to the collegiate life of the institution
• Student engagement, professional development, and assessment of student learning outcomes
• Other duties as assigned

• Willingness to provide tutoring assistance to students with a variety of math backgrounds in the math center.
• Strong understanding of algebra, calculus and statistics
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
• Classroom and office setting
• Working some evening hours is possible
Supervisory and Management Responsibility:
• None
Minimum Qualifications including education, experience, required licensures, certifications, and registrations:
• Master’s degree in mathematics or related discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in mathematics from a regionally accredited institution.
• Math teaching experience, community college experience preferred.
