This includes developing models of gas compression, mechanical compressor operation, gathering/interpreting compression-related data and supporting fabrication of mechanical components. Key Responsibilities: Understand principals of gas compression and thermodynamics of gases. Understand machinery vibration and wear measurement. Research practical aspects affecting compressor operation. Gather field/market research data to validate and improve models. Study production optimization of oil and natural gas sites. Identify end devices to be used for data acquisition and for electronic engine control products. Develop mathematical models of compression equipment temperatures, pressures, and flows. Assist controls engineers with implementing and reviewing compressor models. Write technical documents for installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical products. Assist customers with optimizing gas compression equipment. Document and catalog performance and failure data of mechanical systems. Analyze mechanical failure data and make appropriate design and manufacturing adjustments. Generate mechanical drawings and models for internal assembly purposes and marketing. Work individually and with engineers of multiple disciplines within and outside of their general function. Support field service and customers with product operation. Regularly work and interact with a small group of Engineers with different disciplines. Thrive in a fluid, fast paced evolving environment. Handle various projects and duties, as assigned, to meet business needs. Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Knowledge or experience in the natural gas industry a plus. Strong knowledge of thermodynamic theories. Knowledge of gas compression equipment.
