The Wyoming Wilderness Association is seeking a full-time Development and Communications Manager to lead the organization's public outreach. The Development and Communications Manager is responsible for sharing WWA’s mission, impact, and opportunities for involvement with a broad audience. This position leads strategic communications and outreach initiatives that inspire action, deepen engagement, and strengthen support for Wyoming’s public wildlands. The Manager plays a vital role in media relations, digital and print content creation, and cultivating relationships with partners and community members. They also assist the Executive Director with fundraising efforts and member events by crafting compelling stories, promoting campaigns, and engaging supporters through targeted outreach. This role requires creativity, strong organizational skills, and a passion for conservation and community connection.

WWA is a statewide, conservation nonprofit focused on protecting Wyoming’s public wildlands through advocacy, education, and stewardship.

Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in public relations, business, communications, or related field.
● CRM database management experience required (EveryAction preferred).
● Experience with website development (WIX preferred).
● Graphic design skills/ability to design newsletters, fliers, thank you letters, etc.(Adobe Illustrator and Canva)
● High level of organizational and communication skills, with a strong writing ability.
● Must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
● Must be willing to independently assess WWA’s programming and mission and come up with fresh ideas for a communication strategy.
● Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, travel across Wyoming when needed, and be eager to collaborate with colleagues across the state.
● Must be capable of maintaining sensitive and confidential information.
● Strong interest/knowledge in the outdoors, conservation, or wildlands protection.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Website Updates
● Site modifications
● Blog creation and management
● Embedding forms

Social Media Management & Content Creation
● Instagram and Facebook posts and engagement
● YouTube channel updates

Every Action Platform Management
● Creation and distribution of member emails (this includes but is not limited to action alerts, informational emails, event announcements, etc)
● Development of forms for outing and event sign-ups, advocacy comments, ticketing, and petitions
● Member/Donor data entry & tracking
● Manage and track donor thank-yous

Promotional Materials
● Promotional content for WWA events including, but not limited to:
○ Banff Mountain Film Festival
○ WyoGives
○ Old Bills Fun Run
○ Run the Red
● Design thank-you cards, outing flyers, event banners, merch, and other branded materials
● Design and distribute print and digital annual newsletter

Public Relations
● Track press mentions and coverage
● Draft press releases

Development
● Conduct new member onboarding and ensure information is delivered to new members in a timely manner.
● Work with ED to create a member recruitment strategy.
● Provide timely annual membership reports.
● Promptly and effectively respond to all membership inquiries.
● Assist the ED and relevant staff in scheduling meetings with potential and existing members.
● Assist the ED with processing all correspondence and paperwork related to donations.
● Work with ED to expand vision and growth of organization.
● Research new grant opportunities for the organization

Fundraising Events
● Coordinate, organize, and execute WWA’s participation in major annual fundraising events (ie: WyoGives, Old Bills Fun Run, etc).
● Plan and organize events and/or outings across Wyoming to educate and engage current and future members
● Perform pre- and post-event communications
● Research opportunities for developing additional fundraising and networking events.

Administrative Duties
● Weekly post office and bank visits (if relevant)

Competitive full-time salary of $55,000. Also includes full benefits (Health Reimbursement Arrangement, vision, dental, vacation, flex-time). Simple IRA available after one year of employment. Please send a cover letter, resume, a writing sample, and three references to: martha@wildwyo.org
