SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Stock Assembler I is responsible for assembling and finishing Weatherby rifle stocks. Assignments may include basic or more complex tasks such as molding, sanding, pre-finishing, fitting parts, and final assembly. Assemblers will be trained to inspect and ensure finished products meet all specifications, while also supporting continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Perform stock assembly tasks in an assembly line fashion
• Assemble components and perform processes to specifications; perform quality inspections.
• Operate pneumatic and CNC equipment safely and efficiently; Monitor machine operations, making adjustments as necessary.
• Work collaboratively in a team-oriented atmosphere meeting daily goals together.
• Follow work instructions and prescribed safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
WHAT DOES GROWTH LOOK LIKE?

• Operator in Training – Follows a structured 90-day onboarding plan, learning safety, consistency, and the fundamentals of department processes. Focus is on reliability, attendance, and developing solid work habits.
• Entry Level Operator – Performs at least two workstations or processes independently with accuracy and reliability. Demonstrates quality awareness and growing efficiency.
• Cross-Trained Operator – Expands to perform all workstations, demonstrating proficiency in all areas of the department. Supports quality checks, troubleshooting, and flexibility across shifts or lines. Acts as a peer resource, helping reduce supervisor load and supporting team success.
• Production Specialist (Requires Application/Supervisor Recommendation) – An expert-level operator fully cross-trained across departments. Provides cross-functional support to eliminate bottlenecks, participates in audits, SOP revisions, and lean initiatives, mentors peers, and contributes observations to improve processes across the factory. This role is about more than skills—it’s about mindset, teamwork, and the willingness to step outside your comfort zone to ensure the success of the entire operation.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• English written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating instructions, and work orders.
• Basic math skills and ability to use measuring instruments.
• Strong problem-solving skills, thoroughness, and time management abilities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MEASURES
• Ensure that assigned orders are finished according to schedule.
• Maintain the quality standards listed in the Weatherby10 Inspection and Test Quality Requirements.
• Meet objective goals assigned by the Mark V Lead during performance coaching.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to acknowledge:
• Ability to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
• Prolonged standing required; must be able to manipulate and assemble small parts.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to meet requirements for respirator use including medical evaluation and fit testing.
• Frequently lift/move 25 lbs; occasionally lift/move 65 lbs; push/pull up to 70 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in a manufacturing/factory environment and will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in this work environment can be loud.
