Paralegal

Overview:
Chapman Valdez & Lansing is looking for a full-time Paralegal for our Sheridan, WY office. The ideal candidate must have the ability to prioritize and multitask, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and willingness to learn. We are looking for a candidate who is professional, dependable, and team oriented.

Essential Functions:
• Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance and legal representatives, and administrative agency/courts
• Draft pleadings, mediation statements, responses to discovery, legal correspondence, and other documents for review and approval by an attorney
• Schedule conferences, mediations, depositions and hearings
• Organize and maintain client files
• Calculate and calendar deadlines based off state and federal rules of procedures, and court orders
• Trial preparation and support including creating trial notebooks, subpoenas, coordinating witnesses and assisting at trial
• Performs other duties as assigned or required Knowledge and skills: • Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, or statutes.
• Ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Promote effective communication as a positive team player as well as an independent worker
• Ability to use case management software, PDF management software, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Self-starter, ability to work effectively, problem solve and work independently without constant supervision
•Excellent attendance record

Experience and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED
2. Graduation from, completion of or current enrollment in the last semester of a paralegal program preferred but willing to train the right person. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year Compensation commensurate with experience
