IT and AI Systems Intern
Job Purpose
The IT and AI Systems Intern plays a role in advancing the organization’s digital capabilities by supporting the implementation of practical AI tools, improving internal systems, and contributing to companywide process efficiency. This position assists in identifying technology opportunities, streamlining workflows, and system improvements. The ideal candidate demonstrates curiosity, adaptability, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn new technologies. Reliability and a proactive mindset are essential, as the intern will work closely with the IT team and partner with departments to support training, documentation, and technology adoption. Through this role, the intern will help strengthen the organization’s operational excellence and contribute to our culture of integrity, caring, daring, and responsiveness.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Assist the IT department in evaluating and improving internal systems and workflows
Help create or refine processes, SOPs, and documentation for company systems
Support automation efforts and streamlining reporting tools
Assist in identifying opportunities to apply AI tools to improve workflows across departments
Support the rollout, configuration, and documentation of AI-enabled systems
Provide employee training, demos, and basic troubleshooting for new AI-based tools
Help track AI adoption metrics and report on usage improvements
Support the development of training materials, how-to guides, and reference documents
Participate in or assist with presentations, workshops, and user onboarding sessions
Communicate clearly with employees and help improve technology-related user experiences
Provide general IT assistance, including hardware/software setup and internal support
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have a combination of formal education, relevant experience, and leadership success including:
Currently enrolled in a degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field Strong interest in AI applications, automation, and business systems
Comfortable learning new technologies and explaining them to non-technical users
Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
Good communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Basic familiarity with dashboards, productivity tools, or workflow automation is a plus (e.g. PowerBI, Power Automate, Notion, SharePoint, etc.), but not required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Manual dexterity for handling small components.
