We’re hiring an Executive Chef to lead our kitchen at the NEW, locally owned McGregor’s Bar & Grille inside Mydland Market in beautiful Sheridan, Wyoming. Work in our brand new kitchen leading a fun, fast-paced team, inside our beautiful state-of-the-art building, and serve a historic neighborhood as a vital part of the Sheridan community.

We are looking for someone to be a part of the Mydland Market family, bringing energy, compassion, accountability and leadership. The ideal candidate has proven experience in the food service industry, is a natural leader and is committed to impeccable food presentation and quality. A successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and building our restaurant into a mainstay for our town.

Executive Chef & Kitchen Lead
Reports to:
General Manager & Management Team
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage, hire and properly train kitchen staff and work seamlessly with the General Manager and extended management team
  • Amicably and professionally interact with vendors, staff, and patrons while creating a fun, positive neighborhood culture
  • Effectively manage labor and food costs by ways of efficient scheduling, and accurate inventory and ordering
  • Scheduling routine maintenance for kitchen food service equipment, refrigeration, hood vents, etc.
  • Creativity with menu development and specials, keeping things fresh and approachable while sourcing local as much as possible, within means
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Ensure that food comes out in a consistent, high-quality and timely fashion
Desired Experience & Skills:
  • Full understanding of the entire kitchen including station prep and knowledge of other interworking operations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Professional food management and supervisory experience with a high-level of understanding in various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment & process
  • Familiarity with industry best practices
  • Knowledge of current Wyoming and county laws governing the sale of alcohol and experience with foodservice operations which serve alcohol
  • Experience with wine or beer paired special events
  • Keen eye for organization and efficiency regarding storage of food and kitchen/restaurant equipment
  • Accuracy & speed in completing assigned tasks
What You Bring to the Table
  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Self-motivated
  • Highly organized
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Pleasant and positive demeanor
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lead and empower a team
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours or more per day
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs from the floor to counter height
