Facilities and Equipment Technician

JOB PURPOSE

The Facilities and Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining the functionality, safety and efficiency of the

Company’s physical facilities and production equipment. This role ensures that all equipment and infrastructure are properly

maintained to support seamless manufacturing operations, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with safety

standards. This position requires primary collaboration with Kennon Manufacturing Engineers to assist the Operations team

in supporting both the Manufacturing and Engineering departments at Kennon.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities Maintenance:

· Conduct routine inspections of the building’s interior and exterior to identify necessary repairs or maintenance.

· Perform minor repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and structural components.

· Coordinate with external contractors for larger-scale facility maintenance and repairs.

· Monitor and maintain utility systems to ensure efficient operation.

· Coordinate and schedule snow removal, lawn care and seasonal facility maintenance.

Equipment Maintenance:

· Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery to avoid unplanned downtime.

· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues.

· Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance and repair activities.

· Recommend and implement improvements to equipment reliability and efficiency.

Safety and Compliance:

· Ensure adherence to all OSHA and company safety guidelines.

· Conduct safety inspections and recommend corrective actions.

· Support audits and ensure the facility meets local and federal regulations.

General Duties:

· Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.

· Assist in planning and implementing facility upgrades or new equipment installations.

· Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management.

· Utilize Kennon’s prescribed system to record and track repairs. Lead others in understanding and performing routine,

regular equipment maintenance.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address maintenance-related challenges.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

· Education: High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, engineering or a related field is preferred).

· Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in facilities and equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

· Skills:

o Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

o Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.

o Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.

o Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

o Excellent communication skills.

o Ability to work with a team and to be a good team member.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand or walk for extended periods, and perform tasks in various environmental conditions (e.g. hot, cold, noisy).
