Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the Kennon manufacturing network. You will be responsible for assisting the Operations team (Production, Procurement, Quality, and Design) with the development, justification, and execution of short and long-term process improvements. The ability to facilitate and lead cross-functional teams, form strong department relationships, gather data and obtain buy-in is necessary to successfully perform this role, critical in the growth and development of the Kennon. A continuous improvement mindset is imperative as is the commitment and energy to sustain and grow our continuous improvement culture. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will help in the development and continuation of the business owner culture by being transparent, humble, driven and flexible.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build meaningful professional relationships with coworkers, customers, and partners. Provide honest and tactful feedback with care and concern.
  • Obtain working knowledge of day-to-day operations (Design for Production, Kitting, Cutting, Assembly, Inspection & Shipping).
  • Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials and/or processes.
  • Plan, lead, and execute process implementations (short & long term).
  • Set and track specific goals such as first pass yield, scrap reduction, preventative maintenance.
  • Design and setup work cells for new product lines.
  • Identify ways to improve efficiency, drive quality and reduce costs through process improvement or implementation.
  • Analyze workflow within and across departments to determine ways to improve the entire company.
  • Assist with long-term planning, project status reporting, and implementing change control processes.
  • Develop familiarity with production equipment and proper use, maintenance, and efficiency.
  • Use CAD software to design fixtures for manufacturing operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Our ideal candidate will have a combination of formal education, manufacturing experience, and leadership success including:
  • Associates Degree (Engineering and Technical disciplines preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs and CAD software (Solidworks & Rhino experience a plus)
  • Clear understanding of design for manufacturability
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and task management skills
  • Willingness to travel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • 4+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years experience in leading teams
