We are seeking a passionate Language Arts Teacher to join our growing team at Valor Academy! The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive learning environment that encourages students to develop reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills through a Biblical worldview.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards in Language Arts.
- Educate students on various aspects of language, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and creative writing.
- Utilize learning technology to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Encourage research skills by guiding students in exploring literature and writing projects.
- Foster a love for reading through literary selections and discussions.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate cross-curricular approaches.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
Skills
- Strong behavior management skills to maintain an effective classroom environment.
- Proficiency in proofreading and editing student work to enhance writing quality.
- Experience or familiarity with Christian education is advantageous.
- Ability to conduct research effectively and guide students in their own research endeavors.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools that support language arts instruction.
- Excellent organizational skills for lesson planning, grading, and classroom management.
- Creative writing abilities that inspire students' own creativity in their written work.
- Strong written communication skills for effective instruction and feedback.
