Job Description
To strive to provide superior banking services to customers in a professional manner.  Provide the customer and potential customer with a clear understanding of the technical aspects and benefits of products and services offered.  Expand the customer base through successful cross selling techniques. To process deposits and pay out funds in accordance with bank procedures; to record all transactions accurately and balance each day’s operations.
  • Receives cash and checks for deposit, verifies amounts, and looks for check endorsements.  Examines cash carefully to guard against acceptance of counterfeit bills.
  • Cashes checks for customers after verifying identification and checking accounts balances in accordance with bank policy.
  • Enters transactions into iTeller and issues customer receipts.
  • Counts cash balance at beginning of shift and balances cash drawer at the end of the shift.  Always maintains drawer limit.
  • Prepares certified checks, savings bonds, and travel money cards as requested.
  • Explains bank services and charges to customers.
  • Observes suspicious behavior and reports any such activity to lead teller and or supervisor.  In the event of a robbery, remains calm and follows bank procedures to safeguard customers and staff.
  • Customer Service Rep. (New Accts) and can perform simple functions such as assisting customers in opening accounts, accessing safe deposit boxes, and explaining ATM operations.
  • Understands and follows all opening and closing procedures.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
  • High School diploma or equivalency.
  • Ability to enter numerical data on computer with speed and accuracy.
  • Good Mathematical aptitude to facilitate daily balancing.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Successful completion of in-house training program.
