Job Description

Non-exempt, part-time position (15 hours per week), must work Saturdays
Compensation of $12-14/hour (DOE)
Reports to Executive Director


The Program Coordinator position at SAGE Community Arts is key to furthering SAGE’s mission of building and inspiring community through the visual arts.  This position helps develop and carry out programs and services which provide opportunities for people to see and create art in Sheridan and assists with day-to-day administrative tasks that are core to SAGE’s operations. This is a part-time position at 15 hours a week, working three 5-hour shifts per week.  There is potential for this position’s hours to increase in the future.

Job responsibilities will vary from day-to-day depending on SAGE’s program schedule and will not all necessarily be carried out simultaneously.  Job responsibilities include the following:


ART GALLERIES

  • Serve as customer service representative in the Member and Exhibition Galleries and make art sales through the POS

  • Maintain a current and accurate inventory of all artwork in the possession of SAGE, both in the Member and Exhibition Galleries

  • Supervise incoming and outgoing artwork in both the Member and Exhibition Galleries

    • Create gallery cards for new artistic works

    • Manage replacement of art in Member Gallery after an art sale has been made

  • Maintain current contact information for customers and vendors

  • Manage mailing list of patrons, donors, and community members for invitations to gallery events and shows

  • Promote Members and artwork in the Member and Exhibition Galleries utilizing Facebook and Instagram stories

  • Monitor online sales, help fulfill online purchases, and remove artwork from online store/update status of artwork in online catalogue when sold from gallery

  • Troubleshoot payment processing for online store

ARTIST MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM

  • Recruit new Members and orient them to SAGE

  • Maintain communication and build relationships with Members

  • Maintain an up-to-date Membership Directory and current Member contact information

  • Ensure the retainment of Members and manage the Membership renewal process through Constant Contact

  • Generate monthly Member Spotlight blog posts

ARTS EDUCATION

  • Contact outreach partners to promote SAGE arts education offerings (Library, Chamber of Commerce, etc.)

  • Manage class registrations and maintain class rosters; monitor online bookings and add to class rosters and Point of Sale (POS) customer history

  • Work with class and workshop instructors to generate class descriptions and supply lists

  • Oversee SAGE art supply inventory and purchase art supplies as necessary

  • Help with classroom set-up and clean-up after classes

  • Troubleshoot payment processing for online bookings

DAILY PROCEDURES

  • Carryout end-of-day closing procedures

  • Check and respond to emails and Facebook messages regarding all facets of SAGE, including customer inquiries, Member inquiries, inter-office correspondence, etc.

  • Answer phone and respond to all calls or take messages for the Executive Director

  • Maintain a clean work environment (empty trash, tidy desk, etc.) regularly

  • Track number of daily visitors to galleries

Other tasks and projects may be assigned, as necessary.
