Job Description
The Hub … on Smith is looking for an Accounting Specialist (Accounts Receivable). Join our team of accounting professionals. Applicant must be able to perform general billing duties, such as billing Medicaid, VA, and general patron invoicing to ensure that receivables are collected in a timely manner. Other duties include reconciling accounts on a regular basis, making deposits, recording all cash receipts and monthly grants reporting. This is a full-time position working approximately 40 standard hours weekly. The rate of pay is $17.00 per hour.

Essential Job Functions Include:

Responsible for Accounts Receivable including:
• Monthly billing including Medicaid and VA processing
• Processes payments, including weekly bank deposits
• Maintains organized filing system for Accounts Receivable including:
o thorough and accurate backup documentation
o annual archiving of documents
• Assists with daily cash count and deposits
• Makes bank deposits for donations as directed by Financial Director
• Prepares monthly financial reports as directed by Finance Director
• Assists Finance Director with reports, audit prep and other duties as assigned
• Maintain and update office inventory
• Assist Finance Director with budget prep and data entry
• Prepares monthly grant reports
• Maintains procedure manual for current position
• Crosstrain with Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist to serve as backup
• Reconcile bank statements
• Other duties as assigned

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Computer skills including Quick Books, Excel, Microsoft Office programs
• Accounting/bookkeeping experience
• Ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines
• Time management and organizational skills
• Ability to track and maintain detailed information and produce accurate work
• Ability to take initiative in indentifying and resolving job function issues
• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
• Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of people
• Non-profit experience preferred

Physical Demands
• Ability to sit at a computer station for extended periods of time to complete essential job functions.
• Ability to lift up-to 30 pounds

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree in accounting, or two years of business/accounting or equivalent experience preferred. Experience with Accounts Receivable desired.
